Public Samhain Ritual Friday November 2nd

Published by:

Please join Carol Garr to celebrate Samhain, our honoring of the dead as well as our new year. At the last harvest the Sun God waits in the womb of rebirth, yet the wheel of the year ever turns. Please gather at Ft Lowell Park Ramada 7 (at the far eastern end of the park, in the wash down in the riparian area) at 6PM, with ritual to begin at 6:30. We will have an altar where mementos of your beloved dead can be placed, as well as a cauldron where small items can be burned as part of the rite. Come join in the spiral dance. A potluck feast will follow.

Carol Garr to lead Samhain ritual 11/2/18

Published by:

I, your ritual coordinator, have decided to volunteer for this year’s Samhain ritual on Friday evening, November 2nd. Time & place not yet set, but I’ll advise when it’s been determined. It will be a Wiccan rite.

We’re still looking for a volunteer for Yule, or after that. Covens, groups, or individuals of any Pagan or Heathen tradition are encouraged to step up to share with our community.

Ritual volunteers needed!

Published by:

Though I have had many people say they’d think about volunteering I have no firm commitments, other than SAZCUUPS for Mabon,  for our open rituals for the rest of the year. PLEASE put out the word and let’s get our community to step up to offer to lead some of the rites. Dates, times, and locations can be set by the officiants. All Pagan paths welcome, and we’d love to see some variety. Litha/Summer Solstice is coming soon! Blessings.

Beltane celebration

Published by:

Thanks to Hearths Gate Coven for a wonderful Beltane rite and Maypole dance on May 5th. A good time was had by all, even though the weather was HOT. The weave on the pole was excellent, so may the magic cast there be as smooth and beautiful

Public Beltane celebration and Maypole on May 5th

Published by:

Once again the Wiccan Hearths Gate Coven has volunteered to lead our Beltane rite, complete with a Maypole to celebrate the  fertility of Spring. Please arrive at 2PM for a ritual starting PROMPTLY at  3. Due to prep time required anyone not present by 2:30 will not be able to  dance the Pole. It will be held in Himmel Park (on 1st St between Tucson Blvd & Country Club), between the tennis courts and Hippie Hill.

It  may be hot, so be sure to remember your water and sunscreen. And, if you’re  dancing, appropriate shoes. If you’ve never done this before it is loads of  fun! Hope you can join us!

FYI, due to time of day and expected temperatures the coven is not having a potluck afterwards, so find a way to celebrate with your friends.

Beltane, and more

Published by:

Hearths Gate Coven has volunteered to once again lead TAWN’s Beltane ritual, complete with maypole. Details will be added as soon as available.

SAZCUUPS will be doing our Mabon rite after Fall Fest on 9/22, but plenty of other opportunities are available. PLEASE consider volunteering for one of the other Sabbats, or for other occasions of your choosing. Several groups have said maybe they’d do one… but I need firm commitments. It’s actually fun! I had 51 people at the one I led for Ostara. Hope to hear from you (group or individuals) soon.

Mabon/Fall Equinox ritual after Fall Fest

Published by:

Julie & Carrie of AZCUUPS have volunteered to lead the ritual for Mabon, at 6PM, after Fall Fest on Sept 22nd. As we will already be there at the church (4831 E. 22nd St) the logistics will be easy, and they are hoping to be able to get us some kind of discount as well. This will be a joint celebration with their congregation, so it may have extra-good attendance. That will a great opportunity to expose their people to TAWN as well. It will be an eclectic Wiccan ritual. I have met with them, and they seem to be delightful ladies, with experience leading public rites. I’m looking forward to it.
