Ritual Update

Published by:

We still have problems getting volunteers for our open rituals, though thankfully some of the ones in 2020 have been promised. No one stepped forward to lead Imbolc for TAWN, and the sabbat is rapidly approaching. Several covens are doing private rites on 2/1 and SAZCUUPS public one is the same date. As I strongly feel that TAWN should offer SOMETHING I have decided to do Imbolc for TAWN on Sunday, Feb 2nd at noon, at Kennedy Park (Mission/Ajo). I will update the location, likely just north of the library on the corner, within a couple of days.

We still need someone for Ostara/Spring Equinox, though I have had some tentative inquiries. Hearths Gate Coven will do Beltane again, complete with Maypole. Desert Henge Coven has agreed to lead Litha. Lammas/Lughnassadh still needs a volunteer. Patrick and I have agreed to lead the ritual at Fall Fest on Sept 19th.

Ritual leaders needed for 2020!

Published by:

We are still needing volunteers to lead public rituals in 2020. Thanks to Desert Henge coven for a meaningful and musical Yule celebration, but Imbolc/Bride is less than 2 months away. Please consider stepping forward to lead that, or a subsequent rite, in the new year. Any Pagan or Heathen tradition is welcome, coven or individual. You could also lead another type of ritual important to you: Full Moon or another holiday significant to your tradition. Time and place is your choice. Contact ritual coordinator Carol at home at 520-883-4444, my cell 520-883-4411 or at carol@garden-realty.com .

Yule Ritual December Friday the 13th

Published by:

Come and kick off the Yuletide season and jump the bonfire with Desert Henge Coven as we celebrate the birth of the Sun God at our Winter Solstice public ritual. Our Celtic ancestors celebrated the rebirth of the Oak King, the Sun King, the Giver of Life with the passing of the dark half of the year and look towards the light as the sun climbs just a little higher and stays a little longer each day. Dress festive and warm! Please gather at Himmel Park, the grove of pine near the library at 6:30pm for our 7pm start time. We will be collecting donations of non-perishable food items for the food bank OR an unwrapped toy for the refugee center so the joy of the season can be shared with those in need. We thank you in advance for your presence. A small feast of fruits, treats and spiced cider will be provided. Blessed Be!

With Patrick doing Samhain that leaves Lammas (or Lughnasadh), and Mabon to be covered for 2019. Please let me know if you are interested! And, of course, there is all of 2020 if you have a favorite holiday. Any Nature-based traditions are welcome to lead these, or other, public rites. The usage of the electric power which is available in many areas in and near the church buildings is under the direction of TAWN. TAWN will try to honor vendor requests but cannot guarantee to do so. Vendor space will be assigned by the order in which TAWN receives vendor applications. All decisions by the Vendor Coordinator are final and will be supported by the Board.

Item Donation:

Silent auctions are a major fund-raiser for TAWN. Most of our vendors contribute an item valued at $50.00 or more to these fund-raising activities. TAWN displays the name of the vendor and, if provided, their business card next to the item when it is offered for raffle or auction. The vendor application form includes a space to fill in what item(s) you will be donating. The item may also be donated in person at the event. TAWN is a 501(c)3 organization and tax receipts are available for all donations.

Additional Information:

Vendors must follow Federal, State, and Tucson City laws and ordinances. TAWN bylaws and Tucson city ordinances prohibit nudity, illegal drugs, and alcohol at the event. Violators will be requested to leave and/or be turned over to the Tucson Police Department. TAWN believes that one of the keys to a successful event is for everyone involved – members, vendors, participants, guests, and visitors- to treat each other with courtesy and respect. Any inconsiderate behavior, including racial or religious slurs, will not be tolerated. Any disruptive and/or offensive behavior can result in the suspension of your vendor privileges without refund or recourse, and may also result in removal from the event. All vendor vehicles must be in the parking spaces during the official festival time. Vehicles parked inappropriately or in reserved spaces may be towed at owner expense. Certain vehicles are permitted to be used as selling venues if arranged in advance with TAWN. TAWN is not responsible for lost, delayed, or misdirected mail.

Ritual Leaders Needed!!!

Published by:

We are still in need of volunteers to lead rituals for most of the Sabbats in 2019. Patrick Campion has graciously agreed to do Samhain, but no others are spoken for. Litha/Summer Solstice is barely a month away. Come on, people. You like to attend these, so please step up. Any traditions welcome. Coven, Grove, Kindred, or Solitary doesn’t matter. You pick the date, time, and place.

Sincere thanks to Hearths Gate Coven for the enjoyable Beltane, complete with Maypole dance.
